In the 80’s and early 90’s McKinley was known as Cap’N Crunch as he was in the group Rated X along with Cool Breeze and D.J. Ajax.

Later he changed his name to C-Funk and went solo.

In 2001, C-Funk changed his name to !ProHoeZak?.
He has starred in an HBO feature film titled Who Makes the Rules and racked up production credits for Daz Dillinger (Deathrow), Kurupt (Deathrow), Kokane (Doggystyle), Suga Free (Atlantic), Yukmouth (Rap-A-Lot) and Night Owl (Priority).
