Operative Background: Emerging from the the shadows of Hamtramck, Michigan, DJ 3000 was drawn to the 2030 site by facination as well as the pull of a friend.
Once introduced to the Submerge crew, his relationship with UR and Submerge was forged.
Based on a relationship of talent and respect, DJ 3000 began dj'ing around Detroit and upon joining the Submerge crew, he was approached by Electrofunk Records to mix their first installment of the Somewhere In Detroit Mix Series.
Shortly thereafter he founded his own label, Motech, as an
outlet for the techno and electro production he was working on.
Motech's releases focus on the deep dark side of techno and electro, but also provide an avenue for DJ 3000 to instill the early influence of Albanian music in his life into his production, giving it more of an ethnic feel.
Motech's first release was a shadowy collaboration that formed Black Phuture. The unique duo created a murky futuristic soundtrack to the future with Unfriendly. Embodying the spirits of Model 500 and the Direct Beat label, Motech strikes out on its own to lay its own foundation in Detroit.
Upcoming projects include a second mix CD for the Submerge Label, entitled Electric Soul as well as the follow up to Unfriendly, on Motech 002 Stand Alone. DJ 3000 will also serve as DJ on the upcoming Hitech Funk Live Tour.
