He began his music career in marketing at [l1866] in 1960 where he remained for 21 years, becoming President of the domestic division of [l3072] in 1976. He then moved to [l651] in 1982, where he became President of Elektra Records and the newly created [l85001] jazz label. In 1984, he was approached with an offer to create [l2922], a pop music label based on the East Coast for [l26126], as well as reviving the suspended [l281] jazz label. Signed
Wynton Marsalis twice, to Columbia in the early-1980s and then Blue Note in the early 2000s. Ceased being president of Blue Note in 2010.
