Jeff Hallam made his musical debut in his hometown of Portland, Oregon, as a bass player in various jazz bands, rock and folk. He then flew to Tokyo in the company of a handful of exiled Californian musicians where they formed the band Aka Dig and recorded the album Japop (Sony Records Japan), a mix of funk, jazz and pop. In 2001, Jeff Hallam settles in Paris, France. In 2008 he founded My Friend Jeff where he plays and sings his own post indie rock compositions and released the first EP in 2014. Meanwhile, he works with singers Hindi Zahra, Dominique A, John Parrish, Brisa Roché, Emily Loizeau, Robi, Vincent Delerm.
