House music producer, DJ and jazz guitarist, based in Vancouver, Canada. Makes house, techno, hip-hop, to soul. Collaborated with the London deep house Reverberations record label in the early 2000s. Also tours with vocalist Tim Fuller doing unique live shows that he likes to call spontaneous compositions, with mashups of their impressive catalogue, laced with classic elements of afro-cuban jazz, hip-hop, funk, house, soul and beyond.

To say that Vancouver-based Sean ‘Wunder’ or ‘Mr Bomb Bay’ Dimitrie, is not your average DJ and producer, is a precise definition. From his live electronic jazz band Shazzam, to the Gore Street Studios, he runs in Vancouver, and his own label P.F.B. Recordings. Dimitrie is forever expanding his horizons, spreading his lush and sophisticated sounds, throughout the world.

Best known for his slamming remixes and original productions, for labels like Bombay Records, Toko Records, Leaf label, Disorient label, Transport Recordings, and Village Sound. And bombing dance floors from Bangkok to New York, Pho Kangan to Tokyo. Ever in search of new inspiration, Dimitrie has played and recorded all over the world, playing sets so far as Thailand with gigs at Koh Phangan’s legendary Full Moon Parties, and producing live recordings with a wide-range of gifted artists, from Puerto Rico to Los Angeles.

His signature sound behind the decks, can best be described as ‘Nu West Coast’. With a strong jazz background, an unabashed passion for soul & funk, and a deep connection to and appreciation, for the African percussive language. Sean Dimitrie is the walking and playing incarnation, of sound and culture. Ushering in a truly refreshing sonic approach to house music, as 1 of the northern hemisphere’s brightest, and most gifted musical forces.

Not only did he have the honour of producing and recording a live Roy Ayers ensemble show, in August 2002, in Vancouver. Dimitrie has held notable residencies at the city’s top clubs (both as a solo DJ and with Shazzam), including Fortune Fridays at Element, with Louie Vega, DJ Rasoul, and vocalist Lisa Shaw. He has also DJ’ed alongside industry notables Mark Farina, Johnny Fiasco, David Alvarado, Chez Damier, Ron Trent, King Britt, Timothy Shumaker, Andy Roberts, Doc Martin, Asad Rizvi, DJ Ali, Gavin Bongo, Eddie Amador, Fred Everything, Vernell de Long, DJ Rasoul, and Ralph Lawson.

A producer since 1992, studied writing and arranging at Humber College, followed by a year of jazz performance, at renowned McGill University Jazz Institute, in Montreal. With influences that range from George Benson and Quincy Jones, to Masters at Work and Johnny Fiasco, it is no surprise to learn that Dimitrie is competent at making magic, with both live and electronic sounds.

When not producing underground hits, Dimitrie is busy collaborating with up-and-coming writer and producer Osaze, for an album to be released on Spiritual Life Music, also with Hong Kong label MCM Records for a project featuring the RESPECT DJ team. He also composes and supervises soundtracks to Canadian feature films, and is preparing Shazzam’s highly anticipated debut album.
