Francesco Barsanti (ca. 1690, Lucca, Tuscany — 30 April/1–4 May 1775, London, England) was an Italian composer, flutist, and oboist. He primarily worked in England. Barsanti studied with Francesco Geminiani in London before relocating to Edinburgh, Scotland in 1735. The composer ameliorated many popular Scottish folk tunes by collecting and making basses for them.
