One of the original Light Crust Doughboys and long time member of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys. Sleepy Johnson was proficient on banjo and guitar, but was best known as a fiddle player. In 1976 while playing at a Bob Wills Memorial Fiddle Contest in Turkey, Texas, Johnson died while performing on-stage.
