Offside

Mike Vickers

OFFSIDE was the witty name given to Mike Vickers and his studio band, who released an alternative commercially-released version of the classic Match Of The Day theme for the BBC’s Saturday night football highlights programme.

The theme tune for is called Match of the Day and was written especially for the programme in 1970 by Barry Stoller. As this was the commercially released version it has often led to the theme tune being incorrectly labelled with the title Offside.
