Before his career as a successful producer he worked as a DJ, and took the second place in the 1988 DMC World DJ Championships in London.

From 1987 to 1993 he worked with Carsten Schack (aka Soulshock) as Soulshock & Cutfather. They founded the label Soulpower Productions . It was also in 1993 that he began his long-time award-winning partnership with Joe Belmaati as Cutfather & Joe until 2008. In recent years Cutfather has been working with producers such as Jonas Jeberg, Daniel Davidsen, and Jason Gill
