Kelly fronted the bands Sprawl, Rugrash and Middlefinger in Houston, Texas and was also a member of the bands Joint Chiefs and Les Saucy Pants. Kelly moved to Austin in the 2000s, where he plays with the prog-punk bands Lick Lick and Baby Got Bacteria.
