Born March 7, 1937 in Salford, England
He began playing piano at sixteen but quickly changed to trombone. He joined Mike Peters' Band in 1960, leaving after nine months to join Terry LIghtfoot with whom he stayed with for four years. Next he joined Alex Welsh & His Band.
