Harry Gold

English jazz saxophonist (bass, baritone and tenor), clarinetist, oboist, arranger, composer, bandleader and vocalist, born February 26, 1907 in Dublin, Ireland, died November 13, 2005 in London, England.
Gold played with Metronomes (1926-1928), co-led band with guitarist Ivor Mairants, later in a vocal trio called The Cubs (1932-1937), Roy Fox, forming a small band (Pieces of Eight), Geraldo (1943, for eight months), and in his own bands in 1950s, with the Al Wynette' Band (1970s) and reformed the Pieces of Eight (1980s and 1990s).
He retired from playing in 1999.
