American composer, arranger, educator, bandleader, clinician, instrumentalist, and the leader of the Alan Baylock Jazz Orchestra. He is currently a Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas in Denton, where he directs the the One O'Clock Lab Band. Previously held positions include the Jazz Composer-in-Residence at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester,VA and the Chief Arranger for the Airmen of Note jazz ensemble in Washington, D.C.
