Brother of guitarist Michael Brookins, who released with Robert work as the group Afterbach. Brookins toured with Earth, Wind & Fire (as musical director), Philip Bailey, George Duke, and was a session musician for many artists, including Stanley Clarke, Nancy Wilson, and The Whispers.
