Ron Boots was born in Eindhoven on October 13, 1962. He is a Dutch composer, musician and producer in the field of electronic music, and owner of [l2858].
He was already inspired by electronic music in the Mid-1970s, especially by
Klaus Schulze, but also by
Tangerine Dream,
Vangelis and
Steve Roach. In 1984 he bought his first synthesizer and began to compose pieces of music. He gave his first concert two years later. In 1987 he recorded his first album, which has been followed by many more to date.
From 1990 to 1991 Ron Boots and
Bas Broekhuis ran the label for electronic music [l49495]. In 1992 Ron established [l1021767], a Dutch branch of [l1011616]. In 1997 the label name was changed into [l2858], today one of the largest distributors of electronic music worldwide. In his weekly online program 'Dreamscape Radio' Ron Boots presents albums from the distribution program.
