Marc Paul Simon

In 1972, when Disco Music was in its infancy, a young entrepreneur named Marc Paul Simon started a Tip-Sheet for club DJs called Simon Says and developed the notion and formula of promoting and distributing records (then it was all about 7 singles) to club DJs. He helped push Dance Music to the forefront of the record company priority list.

Many early disco artists owe a lot to Marc for his vision, energy and commitment to dance music that launched their careers. He was hired as a music consultant for the 1978 film Thank God It's Friday.

Sadly, on March 18, 1988, Marc died in Santa Monica from complications due to AIDS.
