Sherman Ferguson. They played a few live gigs around town. They were referred to by
Jazz Times with the phrase, the most captivating new jazz combo in town is known as Heard. Ranier & Ferguson with John Heard as the organizer. Their 1983 self-titled album was the 3rd release for the ITI label. Musician and journalist
Leonard Feather gave the album a 4 star rating. Any idea of a follow up album by the trio never came to be due to the label and artists going in different directions.
Drummer Sherman Ferguson died on 22 January 2006. John heard died on December 10, 2021.
