Allen Overflo Johnson, aka Albert Jenkins is the owner of Needle to the Groove San Jose (Record Shop) & a partner for the label of the same name. He was co-founder of the independent label, Birthwrite Records circa 2003 producing in the underground Midwest/Chicago hip hop scene.

In 2006 Birthwrite fizzled, and he relocated to San Jose, CA. He continued to DJ & produce in the Bay Area, and by this time had amassed a 5,000 piece record collection. By 2014, he owned over 30,000 records and opened Needle to the Groove - San Jose (record shop) partnering with Daniel Bernal founder of Needle to the Groove - Fremont, CA. In 2017, the two owners teamed up with singer/songwriter, Jeff Brummett, writer, David Ma, & Michael Boado, aka DJ Basura to form the Needle to the Groove label. NTTG rosters a variety of artists ranging from soul, electronic, indie rock, bollywood, latin, and hip hop.
