Father of
Greg Cerrone, brother of
Jean-Pierre Cerrone.
At age 18 he became musical director of the Club Mediterranée vacation clubs / holiday resorts.
In 1972, he formed and led
Kongas, with several hits and a very lucrative contract with the French label Barclay.
Cerrone went solo in 1976. The same year, he also created the [l8929] group that he still manages.
Since then, he has released over 25 solo albums, including soundtracks.
With
Giorgio Moroder,
Pete Bellotte and
Frank Farian, Cerrone is amongst the most pivotal figures of the Euro disco sound.
