Swedish-American musicologist, born 1962.

He is a professor of music theory at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, USA. He studied at Ingesunds Musikhögskola, the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, McGill University in Montreal and defended his thesis on the composer Bengt Hambræus at the University of Gothenburg in 1999. Since then, he has written about the reception of Abba, Ingmar Bergman's film music in the anthology Music, Sound and Filmmakers: Sonic Style in Cinema, the use of music in the TV series South Park and was editor-in-chief of the anthology What Kind of Theory Is Music Theory? Epistemological Exercises in Music Theory and Analysis.
