Jack Ross, a Bloomington-Normal native, and Jeris Ross, a former ISU student from East Alton, were married in 1971. After being in the bands Maximus and Woof, the couple moved to Nashville. Jack became a session bass player while Jeris focused on her solo career as a country singer.
