Edmund Walters was for twenty years principal lecturer and head of music at Liverpool College. Since 1968 he has been well-known as chorus master to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society, and his many compositions for this ensemble have become recorded and performed throughout the world. He has now turned his attention to the direction of male voice choirs, being the originator and ongoing conductor of the 1000 English Male Voice Festival at Royal Albert Hall, and has also been honored by Liverpool University in the conferment of The Honorary Degree of Master of Arts.
