English jazz discographer, born 19 March 1922 in London, died 5 January 2011.
Worked in the gramophone library at the BBC 1945-1960, writing record review in The Gramophone 1948-1970, and from 1960 freelance writer of articles, liner notes, and discographies, all on early jazz. Hosted radio programme Mardi Gras for Capitol Radio in London 1973-1984.
