US jazz-rock ensemble active in Germany and UK in early 70s.
The group was formed in 1969 under the name Children Of Fools in Berlin, Germany, by a collective of American Army personnel stationed in Germany. By 1971, after varying line-up changes, they relocated in London. Soon after the band signed a deal with the newly Cube label. After some sessions at Morgan Studios, London, in May 1972 was issued their debut album. The Gasoline Band played a jazz-rock in the vein of early Chicago and Ten Wheel Drive. Despite some successful tours in Germany and Norway, the band quickly fell apart.
