Scottish pop group formed in Glasgow in 1979 after the demise of the punk group Skroo, by
Ian Donaldson. H2O released their debut independent single
Hollywood Dream in 1981 gaining radio airplay leading to a contract with RCA. At RCA they recorded one album and five singles, most successful of which was
I Dream To Sleep (No.17 in UK pop chart). The Group disbanded in 1986 after losing their contract.
Continuing as a duo
Ian Donaldson and
Ross Alcock recorded one more single, in 1987 with guitarist Frank O’Hare, drummer David Edgar and bassist George Sinclair, a line up that wouldn’t last. In 1987
Ian Donaldson released a solo single as well a cover of
The Walker Brothers’
The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore.
