German songwriter (20 December 1923 in Essen, Germany - 16 October 2017 in Essen, Germany).
Neukirchner wrote the lyrics for more than 200 Schlager, often collaborating with
Ralf Bendix. By profession a judge, he usually published his songs under pseudonyms such as
Josua Röckelein and
Siegfried Mahr. For his collaborations with
Erich Becht, he used the alias
Adolf von Kleebsattel.
Among his best-known songs are Es gibt kein Bier auf Hawaii (1963), Schaffe, schaffe, Häusle baue (1964); Peppino, Ich steh an der Bar und ich habe kein Geld, Mein Freund Meier, mein Freund Lehmann und auch ich, and others. For several years, he worked closely with
Heino, for whom he wrote Blau Blüht Der Enzian, Karamba, Karacho, Ein Whisky, In Einer Bar In Mexico, and Treue Bergvagabunden.
