Balafon player, born in Conakry, Guinea into a griot family. He is the grandson of El Hadj Djelli Sory Kouyate, a living legend of the Manding balafon. Famoro is a guardian of traditions dating back to the 13th century in the ancient Mandé Empire. He played in several groups across West Africa including Mory Kante‘s orchestra. He leads his band Kakande.
