US Airwave formed early in 1980 in Philadelphia and was active for around 5 years. Lee Napier had a band prior to that, that recorded a couple of demos at Veritable Studios. The band had an albums worth of songs recorded but no record deal. Other songs were “Everything that I do”, “Part of Love”, “Tell Me”, “Just Like Anyone” and ”Promises”. US Airwave played all over Delaware, New Jersey & Pennsylvania, over 50 shows in clubs, bars, colleges, big stage, small stage, no stage.

One of the band's songs, Thunder in my Heart made it to a compilation album by radio station WYSP and later became notorious as a fake Kiss demo that was on the vinyl bootleg Fancy Mix in 1985
