Swedish journalist, music writer and singer, pseudonym Oscar III, born February 20, 1933 in Stockholm, died November 11, 2001 in Vällingby.
He started as a journalist at Länstidningen in Östersund and continued as a reporter at several different Swedish daily newspapers, including Arbetarbladet in Gävle. He first got an outlet for his great interest in music as a music reporter in the weekly newspaper Idun. During the years 1960–1965, Hedlund was employed by Sweden's Radio. In 1965, he became a permanent employee at Dagens Nyheter, where he wrote about music and musicians of the most varied kinds under the signature Oscar III, and from 1987 he was a music writer for Svenska Dagbladet. He published many books about music, and also about dogs.
