American jazz trombonist and banjoist, born April 3, 1933 in Los Angeles, California. He moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 1960s, and nowadays he splits his time between Southern California and New Orleans.

Ran his own label, Smoky Mary Phonogaph Company in the 1970s.
