Tai Pan is a thrash metal band from Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, that was formed in 1981 under the name Backwater In 1994, the band changed its name to Tai Pan and in 1995 to X-Ray (16). In 2007, the band reunited under the name Backwater.
