Dutch band (Hilversum, 1962-1967) started playing The Shadows repertoire. Haage Coertz, the original drummer, was replaced by Jos Hermeler. When Rob Poppen left the band, he was succeeded by Jons Pistoor - he had his own jazz trio: the Trio Jons Pistoor. Pistoor played music by Jimmy Smith, among others. Under his influence, another repertoire was developed: jazzy music with many up-tempo songs. The name The Falcons was changed to Sammy Soul Set. Hans Poppen joined the new band for a while, but was soon replaced by guitarist Jan van der Voort.
