Australian drummer and percussionist. (b. 1962 in Sydney).
He is a founding member of cult Australian band
The Necks with
Chris Abrahams and
Lloyd Swanton. After graduating from the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music, he became actively involved in the Australian jazz scene, often touring with visiting international artists such as
Vincent Herring, Clifford Jordan, Mickey Tucker,
Branford Marsalis and
Ernie Watts, as well as locals:
Paul Grabowsky, Catholics, Sandy Evans and Dale Barlow.
In the 90’s in Japan he formed a band Peril with
Otomo Yoshihide and
Kato Hideki. Few years later Buck moved to Europe, where he got involved in many projects, including the development of new ’virtual’ MIDI controllers at STEIM in Amsterdam.
