Decadent Dub Team was formed in Dallas in 1986. The group's first single, Six Gun, was on the Sound of Deep Ellum compilation album released by Island Records in '87 and was remixed later that year by NWA's Dr. Dre for inclusion on the soundtrack to the Dennis Hopper-directed LA film Colors. In 1990, Decadent Dub Team co-produced 30 Cops or More and Seven DeeJays for the Edutainment album by Boogie Down Productions. 1990-'91 proved a busy year for the band, as they released a 12 single called Makin' Funky Money b/w Give Up Tha Gold and a Vanilla-Ice-dissing 7 single called Meltdown, both on Los Angeles-based Triple X Records. The former was revamped by MC 900 Ft Jesus for a subsequent Makin' Funky Money / Give Up Tha Gold remix 12, also on Triple X Records. Decadent Dub Team is still active as of 2022 with their new debut album Flash In the Pandemic.
