American drummer, also known as 'Willy' North.
He was member of US psych band Quill (2), one album in 1970 and featuring at the 1969's Woodstock Festival. Following Quill’s breakup, North played with Odetta a bit and then with the Holy Modal Rounders, moving to Oregon with Steve Weber and the rest of the band. He continued to perform with the HMR well into the 1980s. He went on to design the unique North Drums, still favored by some drummers lucky enough to have purchased a kit. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon and plays in the Freak Mountain Ramblers.
