Donna is behind classics like I Want Your Love released on Love Peace and Unity Recordings ,Haunted House with Mystic Matt and James Lavonz and Various releases on UK Garage label Confetti Records as her alias Lady P with her production partner at the time The Abstrac.
Her earlier Uk Garage productions and the Lady P stuff were all written on a simple set up consisting of an Akai 950 and an Atari computer running Qbase, she then brought an MPC 2000 for the beats.
I want your Love track was heard by Mickey Finn at The famous Music house dub cutters and he passed on a copy to Darren Jay who had just started Mecca records a major label who were signing underground artist.
Donna at the time didn't have her own studio and was using ILS ( Goodlooking Records ) studio at night when it wasn't being used but Mecca Records gave Donna an Advance deal for her Album so she could buy her own studio which was a life changing moment for her.
She then went on to Release her Album Spellbound in 1998 which became Album of the month in many music press mags including Mixmag / DJ magazine and many more.
Other SIngles released from this album were Clock the Dough with mixes from 500 Rekords and Hooked featuring vocals of Rhallia.
Donna also Co produced and engineered I dont smoke the refeer with Deekline under her Alias Pixie, this was released as 500 white labels as RAT RECORDS 001 she also mentored and taught Deeklne his studio skills and helped him to launch his music career.
in 2001 she met the Lickle Rinsers aka NDubz, she co produced their earlier material and managed them with Uncle B in the early days before they were signed to Polydor.
Donna Dee also did co production and song writing for ILS (Marine Parade and Distinctive Records) on all 5 of his albums.
She took a break from production in 2002 to organize and run The Eastpak Throwdown hiphop events. This was a large competition based event that ran monthly for 10 years hosting all the biggest names from the Uk hiphop scene ( Grafitti artists/Scratch DJs/B.Boys/Lockers/Poppers/Beatboxers and Rappers).
Donna is now producing UK Garage again and fingers crossed new releases are soon to be seen on here.
