British dance-band singer and actress.
Born March 26th, 1928 in London, England.
Died on January 8th, 1977 in Devon, England (age of 69).

She was the sister of comedienne/singer Dorothy Carless and entertainer Pearl Carr.
She took music lessons from the age of 7, and at 14, went to the Royal Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, but after three months joined Jack Payne’s band. She later sang with Geraldo & His Orchestra from 1945 to 1948. She was the first singer to appear on British television when it resumed after the Second World War and also the first to appear on colour television test broadcasts in Britain in 1957.
