Canadian folk group from Montréal, Québec created in 2004. Originally a duo (Stéphane Lafleur and Joël Vaudreuil), they sold 500 copies of their first self-produced album (
Avec Pas D'Casque), recorded at home and sold at their concerts.
The group's name comes from a turn of phrase used by
Jean Dion, a sports journalist for the daily newspaper Le Devoir, who used the expression avec pas d'casque to refer to a hockey player playing without a protective helmet.
Stéphane Lafleur - vocals, guitar, slide guitar, metallophone, flute.
Joël Vaudreuil - drums, vocals, banjo, trombone.
Nicolas Moussette - lap steel, bass, keyboards, triangle, Tibetan bowl, vibraslap (since 2008).
