Backworld founder, singer/composer Joseph Budenholzer lives in the Hudson Valley, NY. He is widely recognized as a pioneer of the neofolk, and apocalyptic folk genres, combining traditional folk music, experimental and minimalist classical music with fin de siecle mysticism.
Collaborators include David Tibet & Michael Cashmore (Current 93), Drew McDowall (Coil), Antony Hegarty (Anohni), Little Annie, Lydia Lunch, Isobel Campbell (Belle and Sebastian), Jarboe (Swans), MAYa Hardinge, and Ridge Theater NYC.
