Reggae band from Poland.
Group Sedativa started in 2000 in Warsaw as two piece elektronic-dub project of Rami Al Ali (keyboards) and Ignacy Plużanski (groovebox). Soon they were joined by Jurek Burkacki (bass) and Andrzej Jaworowski (guitar). They brought new conceptions and as result new image of band crystallized. Sedativa became a live band. Recording debut was on 2001 compilation Dub out of Poland with track Chanting the water away. Drums on the tune were played by Marcin Ułanowski, on trumpet played Dominik Trębski and on keyboards Dariusz Pawilojcz. At that time band collaborated also with Pablopavo from collective Vavamuffin which came to fruition with track „Banda Saskerland” on compilation „Dwa Gołębie – Kuba Wojewódzki show” and film directed by Xawery Żuławski showing gig in Pracownia Izerska in Szklarska Poręba. Between 2005-2008 Sedativa played many gigs in clubs and on festivals like: Fafa, Ostroda Reggae, Saski Reggae, Afryka festival in Toruń and on final of Polish charity action WOŚP.
In 2008 musicians from Sedativa started working on debut album inviting Dawid Portasz (Jafia Namuel, the brainhole, Rastasize), Bartek Szopiński (Hammond) and Tomek Busławski (brass). Material was recorded in Kings Tone Studio and mixed by duo Mario & Smok (Studio As One). Album „I” was released in April 2011 on Offside Records.
