Steve Smith began his career as an engineer at Muscle Shoals Sound in the late 60’s. In 1971 he formed his own group, Smith, Perkins & Smith with Wayne Perkins and his brother Tim Smith (2). He stayed in England and became a producer for Island Records, producing Jim Capaldi and Bob Marley & The Wailers. Also produced Robert Palmer, Toots And The Maytals, Rough Diamond, No Dice, Gillan, Supertramp and others.
