German composer, conductor and arranger (*Eger, Sudetenland, April 13, 1920, + Marxzell-Burbach near Karlsruhe, June 28, 1988)
During high school in Eger, Pfortner received practical and theoretical music lessons at the municipal music school; After graduating from high school in 1939, he joined a music corps in Ansbach as a trombonist, but was called up to the troupe just six months later and was taken prisoner by the Americans in 1943. After returning home, Pfortner played in various orchestras. In 1949 [l305946] brought the talented musician to Baden-Baden as arranger and trombonist for the
