Swedish musician, composer and conductor, born on July 22, 1965 in Örgryte, Göteborg.
Sporsén plays trumpet and piano and has since 2000 played in
Håkan Hellström's band. Parts of this band formed
Augustifamiljen in 2006, which in the seasons of 2009 to 2018 was the house band in [l204167]'s quiz show På spåret (On the track).
With roots in a musically diverse Gothenburg, Stefan Sporsén has constantly found new platforms via groups such as
Organic Revolution Orchestra,
Calvero and
Elephant. He has appeared on many records during the 2000s; in addition to Hellström with
José González,
Jens Lekman,
Moses and
The Soundtrack Of Our Lives.
As a composer, he is a part of the Gothenburg collective [l758478]. Among other things, he has written music for [l204167]'s drama series Sthlm and A Question of Life and Death under the direction of Håkan Lindhé and The Inner Circle (viaplay.se) 2019, also under the direction of Lindhé, Möbelhandlarens dotter (John Olsson) which received the Guldklaven award in 2006 for Best song and The Knife in the Heart (Agneta Fagerström-Olsson / Peter Birro), in which he also produced the music. (Prix Italia-awarded). In 2015, he composed music for the movies Miraklet i Viskan (directed by John O. Olsson) and Prästen i paradiset (directed by Kjell Sundvall).
During many years of collaboration with
Henrik Wallgren, he has, among other things, composed the music for the horror opera Frankenstein at Gothenburg City Theatre in 1999, starring
Freddie Wadling, and Pearl Harbor for [l843279] in 2001, starring
Irma Schultz.
The vignette melody for [l204167]'s Debatt was made by Sporsén, and together with
Augustifamiljen he has created the vignette melody that has been used for På spåret since 2011.
In 2014–2019, Sporsén was the conductor for
Mia Skäringer in her successful performances Avig Maria and No More Fucks to Give. In 2014–2017, he gave concerts with
Håkan Hellström, notably the five [l365935] concerts in 2014, 2016 and 2017.
