Chicago-born, Los Angeles-based retired music publicist, and a music historian, liner note writer and author. Former owner of music publicity company Conqueroo. Former VP of Publicity of six labels including Capitol, I.R.S., Discovery/Warner Music Group, Morgan Creek, and Ovation Records. Prior to work in publicity, a music journalist contributing to Chicago Reader, Billboard, Mix, Record, Trouser Press, Bomp!, Creem, Illinois Entertainer, and Living Blues. Producer and annotator of reissues for Universal/UMe/Chess, Capitol/EMI, Motown, Omnivore Recordings and Numero Group. Operated the Illinois-based Fiction Records label 1977-81. Reissued album by Chicago street singer Blind Arvella Gray on Conjuroo Records, 2005. Current contributor to Blues & Rhythm Magazine, No Depression, Blues & Rhythm (U.K.), and Best Classic Bands. His first book, 'Down on the Corner: Adventures in Busking & Street Music,' was published by Jawbone Press in November 2024, available now at Amazon.
