Virtuoso tabla player born 3/9/51 in Bombay, India, son of Alla Rakha. Played with many Indian artists and took over his fathers job as tabla player for Indian composer Ravi Shankar. Also played with several artists outside India such as Mickey Hart, Jefferson Starship and Van Morrison.
Also has a parallel career as film actor and acted alongside Julie Christie in the film ’Heat and Dust.’
