British music journalist and editor. He worked from 1982 until 1991 for Sounds, where he was deputy editor when the paper closed. That year he helped the late Rob Deacon found the Volume CD/magazine series, which he edited until 1997. In 1998 he joined the Racing Post. He also used the alias Rex Garvin (after the 60s r'n'b singer) when he wrote for Zigzag.
