Rickey Calloway is a R&B funk singer, rhythm guitar musician and songwriter from Jacksonville, Florida.
Much of Calloway’s music is a reminder of James Brown’s music.
When he was 13 years old, he started out doing a James Brown impersonation in local nightclubs, talent contests, and went on to find his own style after he dropped out of the 9th grade and began to tour the rest Florida.
Tell Me was his first step in songwriting when he was 19 years old.

Originally quit the music business to work at UNF in 1985 until he would have an unexpected resurgence when his song Tell Me became underground hit in the UK soul scene & and other areas around the globe with one Japanese Funk DJ shelling around $3,000 to buy an original copy of the 45.

Signed a deal with Kay Dee to record new material when he was 55 years old.
