She was chosen as the third singer of the group Olé Olé through a contest in the magazine 'El gran musical'. With Olé Olé he recorded a single album in 1992 entitled Al descubierto, which was the group's last before they disbanded a year later. Four singles were extracted from the album: No mueras posibilidad, Pero también te deseo, Volaba yo and Adiós

After leaving the group, in 1995 he collaborated on the Congo Bongo group's song, 'Sigue a mi lado', one of the 14 songs on the soundtrack of the Spanish film 'Alma gitana'. In 1997 Sonia participated in the Disney musical, performed at Christmas 1995 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria entitled 'Fantasías musicales de ayer y hoy'. The repertoire included songs from Walt Disney soundtracks such as 'The Lion King', 'Aladdin', 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Pocahontas'. In 2001 he collaborated on the Frisco song 'A Ritmo de Son'.

In 2004 his first solo album entitled 'Havana Dreams' was published, which contained songs of Cuban classics from the 40s and 50s.

Currently Sonia is still focused on music but with more discreet jobs. He has also been part of bands such as The Saratoga Band and Empty Boat, and has been a performer in plays such as La Bahía de los isletas, Reyes que amaron as Reinas or Zaguán, among others.

In 2013 he met up again with Olé Olé to record 'Por ser tú', a single that paid tribute to his drummer Juan Tarodo, who died that same year.

In 2016 he participates in the album of duets from the return of Olé Olé: 'Sin control', in the song 'Yo soy infiel', together with Vicky Larraz.
