The Pieces Of Shit are David Byrne, Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy) and Michael Brunnock.

Byrne and Oldham began collaborating when Byrne was asked by director Paolo Sorrentino to write a soundtrack for his forthcoming film This Must Be The Place. In the script Sorrentino cites Will Oldham as a musical touchstone for the character of young singer/songwriter so Byrne enlisted Oldham to collaborate on the demos that were to be produced by the singer/songwriter character.

The group, which isn’t a real actual group, features Oldham writing the lyrics, Byrne writing the music, and the Irish singer Michael Brunnock doing all the actual singing.
