Higgins has advised on and written sleeve notes for several reissue labels including Ascensionale, Eating Standing Publishing, seriE.WOC and BBE.

In 2007, Higgins worked with Emmylou Harris, producing a live concert film, shot in Los Angeles, titled Emmylou Harris 10 Commandments of Country.

Along with Mike Peden, Higgins co-compiled the compilation [m=1319883] (2018) for BBE and has co-curated the BBE J Jazz Masterclass Series specialising in reissuing rare Japanese jazz from the 1960s to 1980s. He is also Exec Producer for the Decca/Universal British Jazz Explosion series.

Higgins has also worked on several TV documentaries including a number of BBC projects such as 'Jazz Britannia', 'Girls & Boys: Sex and British Pop', 'Seven Ages of Rock', 'Kings of Rock and Roll', and has also written for specialist music and national press.
